about research

“By delving into the spaces of my past, I uncover layers of memory and emotion that challenge the boundaries between the personal and the collective, between the seen and the incommunicable.”

About My Work

This space is a reflection of my deep connection to the places and people that have shaped my life. My research isn’t just a thesis—it’s a personal exploration of how spaces hold the emotions, memories, and dreams of those who live within them.

What I’m Exploring

My work is centered on the idea that space is more than just a physical setting. It’s alive, filled with the stories and experiences of those who inhabit it. I’m particularly focused on my childhood home and the surrounding area, using these spaces as a lens to understand how personal and collective identities are formed.

How I Work: Blending Art and Research

I approach my research through autoethnography, which allows me to weave my own experiences with broader cultural and social contexts. By looking inward, I aim to uncover the ways in which our personal stories are connected to larger narratives.

To bring these ideas to life, I use the essay film—a form that lets me express the fluidity and complexity of the spaces I’m exploring. It’s a medium that allows me to capture the subtle, often unspoken aspects of memory and emotion, transforming them into something tangible and shareable.

Facing Challenges Together

This work hasn’t been easy. Natural disasters, political turmoil, and personal struggles have all influenced my research. But these challenges have also deepened my understanding and provided unexpected insights. Through conversations and collaboration with others—filmmakers, artists, professors—I’ve been able to find new ways to move forward, even when things felt overwhelming.

Looking Ahead

My goal with this project is to create something that bridges the gap between art and science, offering a new way to understand the spaces we live in. I hope that by sharing this work, I can open up conversations about how our personal and collective histories are intertwined.

Thank you for being here, and for taking the time to engage with the spaces and stories that are so close to my heart.
